This pastel abstract is highly representative of the Red Series Vance painted in the last decade of his life (2000 to 2010).
"Let Me In" shows Vance's ironic sense of humor over the politics, money and cronyism behind the big museum collections like the Gugenheim (depicted in the painting).
This painting was used for an Art Encounter brochure of Vance's Red Series, published initially for the 2002 International Art Expo in New York City.
"Ramunga" |
"Ramunga", owned by James Nelson of Las Cruces, New Mexico, is a 60X40 pastel, and very untypical of Larson's other works of this medium.
